The Neighbor's House

I went to my Mother In Law's house in West Seattle this morning.  My daughter and I are converting her downstairs room into a photography studio/rec room.  I get a small corner with great light, the kids get the larger area for hanging out.  It's a lot of work, but it's gonna be worth it.  Anyhow... the purpose of this post.

When we were getting into the car this afternoon, I looked over at the neighbors house and saw two chairs, and a table sitting under a tree in the front yard.  It was such a picturesque moment that I, yep you guessed it, pulled my camera out and snapped up a few shots.  I decided to enhance this photo by using black and white, I think it gives it an austere and mesmerizing feel.  These are the moments I look for while I'm out doing my thing.  Hoping for more.

The Love of My Life

He really hates it when I take his picture, but I think he's so handsome.  All mushiness aside, I find that his rough exterior is a sheild for the gentle and loving man I know.  I think this pictures helps to dispell the myth that he is a big bad meanie - it shows an intimate and vulnerable side of him.

I love you Baby!

Sometime at the Wading Pool - Lincoln Park WA

The other night we took our son Jake to the wading pool in West Seattle.  I had the funnest time watching all of the little kids run around playing.

There was the cutest little girl chasing down her sisters trying to get them to pay attention to her - either that or make their life miserable wanting everything they had.

When we were getting ready to leave TJ was wrapping Jake up in his towel and the sun hit his face just right.  I made for a wonderful and intimate moment that I was able to capture - this photo is very moving for me.

The Miller/Thrope Wedding - Roy WA

So I got an email on Friday from a frantic bridesmaid - her cousin's wedding was the next day and their photographer had flaked out! She asked if I could do it at last minutes notice. With some reservations, I agreed and I'm glad I did.

Describing the wedding would make it sound like the stereotypical "Redneck Wedding" - three of the bridesmaids were pregnant, as well as the bride. There was the mullet factor, the wedding took place in a trailer court, there was a backhoe on site for digging up the septic tank during fecal emergencies, and to top it all off the main course at dinner was BBQ Pork.  But when all was said and done, it was one of the most beautiful weddings I've attended.

The Lykins/Howell Wedding to Remember

I had such a ball photographing Mitch and Trisha's wedding. They are such a beautiful couple and it was such a pleasure to be apart of this wonderful day!
